Canoa (Canoe)
Canoa parish is a rural parish belonging to Manabi province San Vicente canton.
Canoa Beach is a paradise of 17 kilometers of tranquility, nature and fun, near the city of Bahía de Caráquez and San Vicente. Ecotourism and excellent waves for surfers are some of the main offers of this place.
The town has a very active nightlife, the huts along the white-sand beach house clubs and restaurants where local dishes and drinks are served until late at night. The beach is characterized by its extensive white sand that covers about 17 kilometers in length reaching the beach of Briceño and San Vicente.

Canoa Tourism
Canoa Manabi, geography is conducive to fly in hang gliding and paragliding, jumping from the cliff on the beach. In overflights to the north end you pass through a cave that is the resting home of bats and blue-footed boobies that can be visited when the tide is low.
You can also rent bicycles in some stores, you can travel the bike path from Canoa - Briceño - San Vicente until you reach Bahia de Caraquez, cross the Caras bridge (the route is 15km). You can also visit the communities and towns near canoe or visit other routes in the countryside.
On Saturdays, there is a market for organic products on the main road.
The best time to surf is between December to May, when waves reach more than two meters high and surfing and swimming conditions are the best.

Forestry Activities
Canoa Parish’s forestry area is little, due to the indiscriminate logging and burning carried out by the area’s farmers, who, in December and January months, knock down the vegetation and then burn it to wait for the rains in the first days of the year and there sow your products.
It is for this reason that there are few trees left, mainly the ceibos that are native, we also find mangroves, fruit trees and more.
Fishing Activities
- Fishing is a traditional activity of this Manabi population that is carried out in an artisanal way and provides a large number of marine species for consumption that is sold in local markets, restaurants and hotels being the source of livelihood for large numbers of families.
