PROGRAM IN THE ECUADOR ANDES
Depart from your Quito hotel or for a 1st class hotel close to yours and drive through the Pan-American Highway north towards the beautiful Andean region of Otavalo. In the way, stop in Cayambe, located at the foot of the 3rd country volcano of same name, to taste its delicious “Bizcochos”, a type of cracker baked greatly paired with local cheese “queso de hoja” or caramel sauce “dulce de leche”. Afterwards, brief panoramic stop at “Miralago”, to admire a wonderful view of Lago San Pablo, dominated by Imbabura volcano. Then arrival in Otavalo and visit to its well-known and colorful Indigenous and handicraft market, that exhibits all the Ecuadorian craft and textiles. After, stop at the Indigenous weavers and musician workshops in Peguche village; such the traditional workshop of the "Ñanda Mañachi". And before returning to Quito, tour of Cotacachi, the village of the leather shops and artisans.
