To arrive in Santo Domingo is to reach a multi-ethnic city, full of colors, excellent cuisine and above all a commercial destination, which places the city as an important point for the national economy.   

Starting the trip to 'Santo Domingo de los Colorados' 

The tour of the province begins in Alluriquín known as the sweetest parish in Ecuador. Upon arrival the sweet smell travels through all spaces and permeates every corner with the aroma, reason for its denomination. More than 50% of the inhabitants of the populated center are dedicated to the elaboration and commercialization of marshmallow and handmade products derived from sugar cane.          

From this place, just 10 minutes away, you reach the Unión del Toachi site, via the Pampas. Here there are impressive waterfalls all the way, our destination was the Cascadas del Diablo where we would practice canyoning, for this it is necessary to hire the services of professional guides who provide all the safety equipment to live a great adventure.     

The landscape is incredible, the crystal clear water and the waterfalls have several sizes between 15 to 97 meters high, places that allow you to live the adrenaline, in jumps, rappels and zip lines, to make the trip an unforgettable moment.

What to do in Santo Domingo?

The delicious gastronomy of the site recharged us of energies to continue with the tour, this time, by bicycle among beautiful landscapes, that welcomed us with open arms. The 12k m circuit is done with a local guide and professional bicycles for a better experience. During the cycling trip there are technical stops to hydrate, eat, rest, or simply take pictures of the beautiful landscapes of this province. Along the route several spas showed us the tourist potential of the area with its rivers, swimming pools, slides, sports courts and camping areas .       

At night there is the option of touring in a tourist Chiva ( tourist handicraft transport) through the Bomolí Hill, one of the most emblematic sites of the city, the only mountainous elevation observed within the urban perimeter. From its viewpoint on the top you can see a wonderful landscape of the city and the sanctuary of the Virgen del Cisne.    

Santo Domingo has multiple nightlife activities that open a space for dialogue with residents. Thus the first day of travel concludes, to continue the next day the adventure in the majestic White River, site for rafting, in its mighty waters.  

Very early we traveled to the parish of Valle Hermoso, Velasco Ibarra sector where several guides were waiting for us with their boats ready to take a two-hour tour downstream, where we experience unique emotions and experiences that can only be lived in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas .
