- Depart from your Quito hotel or from a 1st class hotel from yours. Then drive through the Avenue of Volcanoes admiring beautiful Andean landscapes. Arrival at the Cotopaxi volcano region, the 2nd highest of the country (5900 meters). Tour of its National Park, possible short walk at Limpiopungo lagoon and stop at its local small museum and interesting hike to reach a forest of “chuquirahuas”, the symbolic plant of the mountaineers at 13,780 feet altitude. (If the weather permits).
- Then short drive up to the spectacular Quilotoa stunning turquoise lagoon, making it one of the most beautiful landscapes of Ecuador. Short hike to appreciate the magnificent view of the volcano (if weather conditions allow it).
