The Chugchurrumi Stone
Chugchurrumi Stone, Stone Chest
In the Juan Montalvo de Mira parish, you will find a large rock which is approximately 3 meters high, with remains of hieroglyphs in its upper part and channels in its sides.
This rock was considered a mythological place, its inhabitants give it innate powers, some locas even claim that conversations are heard there. Its first venerators were from the Los Quilcas tribe, who had extrasensory connections with the rest of the huts that surround the place.
On this stone there is a legend that relates to enchantments. It is said that when there was a break in relations between lovers, they chose this place to end their lives, they placed themselves in the higher part and it is believed that they felt some kind of attraction that in an involuntary way made them jump into the void.
What should you know?
A section of the Qhapaq-Ñan starts in the Chugchurrumi Stone, it is understood then that the study path included between the parish Juan Montalvo - Cabuyal, is divided in two sections: the Chugchurrumi Stone section to the sector called the Jewel. The Qhapaq-Ñan located in this part of the section has been maintained. The second section, that goes from the Joya Cabuyal, will be called Deteriorated Road, since this route has not been preserved.
